Add Roman Numerals in Google Docs

Roman numerals are unique kinds of numbers. It uses only seven symbols: I, V, X, L, C, D, and M. But Google Docs makes it easy to add Roman numerals in the document. It uses to differentiate the headings, sub-headings, and numbered lists.

In this tutorial, we will look at the two different methods of inserting Roman numerals in Google Docs.

Create Roman Numeral List as Bullet Points

To insert a Roman numeral list, you need to use the below steps.

  1. Position the cursor to the point from where you would like to start the Roman numeral list.

  2. Then, click on the Numbered List drop-down arrow on the document’s top-right corner.
  3. And select the Roman number list from the given options.

  4. Now, the Roman number appears to create the list.
  5. Press Enter to add the following Roman number to the row.

  6. In the end, to exit the list, press the Enter key twice.

Steps to Insert Roman Numerals

Follow these steps to insert Roman numerals.

  1. First, open the Google Docs and place the cursor where you want to add Roman numerals.

  2. After that, go to the Insert tab and hover over to the Special Characters from the drop-down.

  3. Now, the pop-up will appear on the window with several symbols and characters.

  4. Next, type the Roman characters in the search bar on the top-right side.
  5. All the Roman numerals will show on the left side of the search box.

  6. Click on the Roman numeral that you need to add to the Google Docs.
