Change Page Color in Google Docs

Google Docs has a white color background by default. But, sometimes, you need to customize the background color with different shades to highlight the text in your document.

In this tutorial, we will look at the quick steps to change the page’s background in Google Docs.

Steps to Change the Page Color

  1. First, click on the File tab from the top menu bar.

  2. Then, select the Page Setup view to change the settings of your page from the list of options.

  3. Next, the page setup dialog box with various categories will appear on the screen.

  4. Now, choose the color for your page by selecting the Page color from the drop-down icon.

  5. And when you click on the drop-down box, it displays various colors. Thus, it is easy for you to select a color from the palette for the background of your text.

Interestingly, if you want to apply any other color for your choice, that is not available in the palette. Then, click on the “+” icon under the custom option.

In this, you can see the Hex option on the top with the color code and the Hue option toward the bottom with the color line. It allows you to choose the shade you want from the matching tool.

After that, click ok to add the selected color in the previous presets.

After adding it to the page color presets list, you need to select the Ok button of the Page setup menu to apply it to your document.

In the end, you will see your selected color for the document is in the background of your text.

Note: You need to apply a single color on the Whole Document, as there is no option for a different color for a different page.
