Make an Arrow using the Drawing tool
You can use the drawing tool to insert the arrow into Google Docs. Here are the steps for this.
- First, open the document where you want to add arrows.
- Afterward, go to Insert in the menu, then the Drawing, and select New.
- In the drawing window, click on the Shapes drop-down and select Arrows.
- Alternatively, you can draw a single line arrow from the Line drop-down.
- Here, click on any arrow from the list of options.
- Press and hold the left mouse button to draw the arrow on the drawing window.
Customize the Arrow
- To customize the arrow, you need to select the arrow and then drag it from any end to change its size.
- Next, you can change the features of the arrow, like border weight, style, border color, and fill color from the formatting options in the toolbar.
- You can even rotate the arrow from the top blue circle in any direction.
- Click the Save and Close button to insert the arrow on the main document.
Insert an Arrow using Special Characters
Another method to insert an arrow in Google Docs is to use the Special Character feature. As in this, we have multiple arrows to use it further.
- Click on the Insert tab and hover over to the Special Characters.
- Go to the search box in the Special Character dialog box and type Arrow.
- Now, the list of arrows will appear on the left side of the dialog box.
- Select the arrow that you want to insert into your document.
- Once you select an arrow, close the special character dialog box, and you can find the selected arrow in its position.
Add Arrows using the Equation Method
Follow the steps below to use this method.
- Go to the Insert and select the Equations option to add arrows in Google Docs.
- The new equation bar will open below the main toolbar when you click on it.
- Here, click on the Arrows drop-down to select the arrows.
- In the end, you can see all the selected arrows on your document.
